Voice provider setup
Prepared for Bolna. No phone service is activated by this page.
1. Choose and verify your voice stack
Recommended: Bolna with Plivo Indian numbers and Sarvam speech. Buy a main number and/or branch numbers after business KYC. Test English, Hindi and Marathi before using patient calls. Check current pricing, number rental and concurrency.
Alternatives: Exotel Intelligent Voice Agents with a Marathi-capable stack; Plivo + Pipecat + Sarvam for a more customised implementation.
2. Save your account key and branch settings
- In Integrations, save your Bolna key and click Send test. This only reads your account.
- In Test the agent → Branch agent settings, save the phone number, reception number, voice, language and opening hours for each branch.
- Copy the branch’s Agent instructions into your Bolna agent. Set up English, Hindi and Marathi speech there, and assign each purchased number.
- Set Bolna’s transfer destination to that branch’s reception. This cannot be tested until you have provisioned the provider.
3. Connect the guarded sandbox tool
The server controls the conversation and refuses to book until the patient confirms. It reuses the same slot, hold, confirm, reschedule, cancel and questionnaire actions as the website.
Download prepared Bolna custom functions
- In Bolna’s Tools tab, add the two custom functions from the download. Set their Authorization header to “Bearer ” followed by this private tool key.
- Call start_sandbox_conversation once. Leave branch blank for the main number; the server will ask the patient to choose.
- For each patient response call continue_sandbox_conversation with the returned call ID and revision. Read the latest agent response verbatim, and offer the returned options. Do not invent tool results.
- Use fictional caller numbers beginning 000000 and fictional emails ending @example.invalid. The guarded tool rejects real patient numbers.
- First test in the provider’s non-dialling test console. Number routing, real speech quality and transfer completion remain unverified until the provider is configured.
Register provider test results below to import verified transcripts and consented recordings. Live dialling and message delivery remain disabled.
4. Receive test-call results and recordings
Callbacks are updates sent by Bolna after a test call. Only explicitly registered fictional test executions are accepted. MyFollowDesk checks the call with your connected Bolna account and stores permitted audio privately.
The simulated test creates one Calls entry with a transcript and a silent audio fixture. It checks duplicate and older updates without contacting a provider.
Connect Bolna callbacks
- Verify your Bolna key in Integrations and save this branch’s Bolna agent ID in Branch agent settings.
- Create a callback key below. In Bolna’s Extractions → Webhook Configuration, paste the endpoint and add an Authorization header containing Bearer followed by your key. Keep the key private.
- Register the fictional test execution below and enable callbacks. Save the agent in Bolna. If a callback arrives before registration, use Refresh afterwards.
- Use browser-only provider tests or fictional caller numbers beginning 000000. Importing real-number telephone calls is blocked. Call routing, outbound dialling and messages remain disabled.
Last verified callback or refresh: None yet. This does not confirm that telephone routing is active.
Register a fictional provider test
Only register fictional tests. Without recording consent, the transcript and call status can be imported, but audio will not be downloaded.
Registered test results
No registered results yet. You can run the simulated test above.
